Why now
Australia's payments market is changing
Regulatory reform is removing surcharging as a way to offset card acceptance costs. TruPay is building towards launch so Australian businesses have a lower-cost alternative ready before the change takes effect.
1 October 2026
From this date, Australian businesses will no longer be able to apply card surcharges to recover the cost of accepting most card payments.
Costs don’t disappear
Payment processing costs are still real — businesses just won’t be able to pass them on through a surcharge line item.
Margins feel it
Without a lower-cost way to accept payments, that cost is absorbed into margins or pushed into higher prices.

TruPay is being designed to fit the everyday payment moments across a wide range of industries.
